What is Eye Surgery?

Eye surgery tackles many eye problems, from cataracts to vision correction (LASIK). An ophthalmologist, a specialized eye doctor, performs these surgeries to improve or restore your vision, address injuries, or even address cosmetic concerns around the eye.

Femto LASIK Surgery

Femto LASIK is an advanced laser eye surgery to ditch glasses and contacts. It uses a special laser to create a precise flap in your cornea, then reshapes the tissue underneath for clear vision. It might be a better option than traditional LASIK due to its accuracy and potentially faster healing.

Blepharoplasty

Facial features change with age and environmental factors, causing droopy eyelids and under-eye puffiness. Eyelid surgery tightens them by removing extra skin and fat. The procedure takes about two hours for both upper and lower eyelids.

Strabismus

Strabismus, or crossed eyes, is when your eyes don't work together. One eye might point straight ahead while the other goes inward, outward, up, or down. This can happen in babies or young kids. It can lead to double vision and even a lazy eye if left untreated.

Cataract

A cataract is a clouding of the lens in the eye which affects vision. Cataract surgery removes the cloudy lens and replaces it with an artificial lens called an intraocular lens.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a long-term eye problem that harms the optic nerve, potentially causing vision loss and blindness without treatment. High eye pressure, often due to poor drainage in the eye, can lead to fluid buildup and nerve damage.

Macular Degeneration

Macular degeneration, or age-related macular degeneration (AMD), affects the central part of the retina (macula) and leads to vision loss in older adults. There are two types: dry AMD, causing gradual vision loss with yellow deposits, and wet AMD, causing rapid vision loss due to leaking blood vessels.
